- My modem, and most others i've heard of (and there are around 5
- different people asking this same exact thing every week) do NOT get thrown
- off the connection. The modems just ignore the beep (they must have good
- error connection). However, one modem, the cardinal 28.8, does drop the line
- (cleanly) when the call wait beep happens, which is nice (though it can be
- told to ignore it). The PPI 14.4 totally ignores the beep though.
