  47. My modem, and most others i've heard of (and there are around 5 
  48. different people asking this same exact thing every week) do NOT get thrown 
  49. off the connection.  The modems just ignore the beep (they must have good 
  50. error connection).  However, one modem, the cardinal 28.8, does drop the line 
  51. (cleanly) when the call wait beep happens, which is nice (though it can be 
  52. told to ignore it).  The PPI 14.4 totally ignores the beep though.
